Specialist Course in Metaphysics and Natural Theology

Specialist Course in Metaphysics and Natural Theology

Coordinator: Fr. Alain Contat

The course curriculum provides students not only with historical knowledge, but also with a fundamental approach to systematic philosophy. Its intent is to help students develop a philosophical synthesis founded on the metaphysical dimension of philosophy, so that they acquire a coherent view of the cosmos, of humankind, and of God. The curriculum is based on a perennially valid philosophical heritage, namely that of St. Thomas Aquinas, his key principles, and his openness to the issues and culture of the people of his time. To achieve this objective, some of the courses correlate metaphysics with other disciplines (ethics, theology), or present it from a historical viewpoint.
