The \u201ccommon thread\u201d of the relationship between soul and body, later interpreted in modern times as the mind-body relationship, and which today, in light of research in neuroscience, psychiatry, and clinical psychology, is articulated as the mind-brain relationship, is at the heart of the debate in philosophy of mind.
