The priestly renewal course \u201cIn the Footsteps of St Paul\u201d<\/strong> takes place in Turkey, in the lands evangelized by the Apostle to the Gentiles and the setting of the first great Ecumenical Councils of the Church. It is organized by the Sacerdos Institute in collaboration with Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi<\/span><\/span><\/strong> and is structured as a formative pilgrimage that combines guided visits, biblical meditations, moments of prayer, and historical-theological reflection.<\/p>\r\n

Through an itinerary that touches cities and regions central to Paul\u2019s mission \u2014 such as Antioch<\/span><\/span>, Tarsus<\/span><\/span>, Cappadocia<\/span><\/span>, and Ephesus<\/span><\/span> \u2014 participants will have the opportunity to rediscover the apostolic roots of the Church and rekindle awareness of their own priestly vocation.<\/p>\r\n

The aim of the course is to help each priest renew the meaning and missionary zeal of his ministry, drawing inspiration from the figure of St Paul: from his conversion to his tireless evangelizing work, culminating in the supreme witness of total self-giving.<\/p>\r\n

A priest will accompany the group throughout the journey, offering biblical and spiritual guidance together with an expert local guide, providing historical, archaeological, and theological insights into the places visited. The course-pilgrimage is designed as a meaningful time of reflection, priestly fraternity, and inner renewal in a historical and religious context of extraordinary richness.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The course follows an itinerary through the main places connected with the life and mission of St Paul and the history of the early Church:<\/p>\r\n\r\n

  • Seleucia<\/strong> \u2013 Port from which the first apostolic journey began<\/li>\r\n \t
  • Tarsus<\/strong> \u2013 Birthplace of St Paul<\/li>\r\n \t
  • Cappadocia<\/strong> \u2013 Land of the Cappadocian Fathers and a great monastic tradition<\/li>\r\n \t
  • Iconium (Konya), Lystra and Derbe<\/strong> \u2013 Early communities evangelized by Paul<\/li>\r\n \t
  • Antioch of Pisidia<\/strong> \u2013 Site of Paul\u2019s great missionary discourse (Acts 13)<\/li>\r\n \t
  • Hierapolis (Pamukkale)<\/strong> \u2013 Memory of the martyrdom of St Philip<\/li>\r\n \t
  • Ephesus<\/strong> \u2013 Center of Paul\u2019s long missionary activity and seat of the Council of Ephesus<\/li>\r\n \t
  • Miletus<\/strong> \u2013 Paul\u2019s moving farewell discourse to the elders of Ephesus<\/li>\r\n \t
  • Smyrna<\/strong> \u2013 City associated with St Polycarp<\/li>\r\n \t
  • Troas<\/strong> \u2013 Vision of the Macedonian and resurrection of Eutychus<\/li>\r\n \t
  • Nicaea, Chalcedon and Istanbul<\/strong> \u2013 Places of the great Ecumenical Councils, with special remembrance of the Council of Nicaea (325 A.D.), origin of the Creed<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

        Scholarships and Financial Aid<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n

        Thanks to the generosity of benefactors, limited financial assistance<\/strong> is available to help priests from dioceses with fewer resources participate in the course.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

        In the registration form, applicants may:<\/p>\r\n\r\n

          Spiritual Accompaniment and Guides<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n
