10th Edition \u2013 Neuroethics of Mental Health<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n

The tenth edition of the Advanced Course in Neurobioethics<\/strong> will be dedicated to the theme \u201cNeuroethics of Mental Health.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

After years of interdisciplinary research on the relationship between neuroscience, bioethics, psychiatry, philosophy, and policy, the Neurobioethics Research Group (GdN)<\/strong> offers, for the academic year 2026\/2027<\/strong>, a one-year course focused on the main ethical, anthropological, clinical, and social issues related to mental health.<\/p>\r\n

The Course also builds on the international dialogue developed with the International College of Neuroethics and Neuroscience (ICONN)<\/strong> and on the most recent scientific contributions emerging from the Group\u2019s editorial collaborations. From this perspective, mental health is approached not only as a healthcare issue, but also as a crossroads of anthropology, relationality, law, health policy, and social responsibility.<\/p>\r\n

Learning objectives<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n

The Course aims to provide participants with the tools to understand, in a rigorous and interdisciplinary way, the new challenges related to mental health: the relationship between mind, brain, and person; psychological vulnerability; decision-making freedom; human dignity; the role of the family, the community, and institutions; and the ethical implications of diagnostic and therapeutic practices.<\/p>\r\n

The approach will be interdisciplinary, bringing into dialogue neuroscience, psychiatry, psychology, philosophy, bioethics, law, philosophical anthropology, and theology, with particular attention to the human person in his or her unity and complexity.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

<\/h3>\r\n

Structure and methods of participation<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n

he Course lasts one academic year (September 2026 \u2013 June 2027<\/strong>), includes 10 monthly sessions of two hours each<\/strong>, and grants 10 ECTS credits<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

Classes will be held on Friday afternoons from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.<\/strong> and may be attended in three formats:<\/p>\r\n\r\n

  • online synchronous<\/strong> (live streaming)<\/li>\r\n \t
  • online asynchronous<\/strong> (recorded sessions)<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n \r\n

    Admission Requirements<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n

    The Course is intended for physicians, bioethicists, philosophers, theologians, jurists, economists, educators, and cultural professionals<\/strong> interested in exploring the new scenarios of neurobioethics and the frontiers of longevity.<\/p>\r\n

    To enroll, applicants must hold at least a high school diploma<\/strong>. No selection process is required, but a minimum of 10 participants<\/strong> is needed for the Course to be activated.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
