The Institute for Higher Studies on Woman is an internationally recognized cultural and academic institution that promotes the contribution of women in all fields of society, creating a current of thought that can inspire concrete action in our societies. Being one of the first institutes of its kind, we focus on a systematic and inter disciplinary approach to femininity, to its dimensions and areas of influence in order to promote a true vision of woman and of her dignity.
We aim to increase the presence and influence of women in society through intellectual endeavors, human formation and social action.
Our institute is committed to being an academic reference in the efforts to promote women’s talent in business and society and to find innovative organizational models that allow the integration of work and family.
All over Italy, support centers and shelters house women who have been victims of violence and offer them refuge and psychological support. These institutions however do not always provide a path to re-employment and social reinsertion.
With the help of our partner companies, we seek to tailor our rehabilitation model to empower women who were once victims to fit the profile needed by the companies, and so provide them with real possibilities for social and economic reinsertion. Thanks to our long-standing experience both in training women professionals and in supporting companies in accomplishing effectively their organizational adjustments, we will coordinate a 3 week intensive training course, and, at its conclusion, a three month internship at partner companies, with a possible employment as follow-up. This experience will allow women involved to gain greater personal confidence, as well as relational and professional know-how, and so enrich their curriculum and increasing their chances in job marketplace.

What actions can reduce youth unemployment by alternating patterns of university-work? Our Institute wants to advance concrete proposals by an experimental connection between university and business world, aimed to fill the necessary skills gap in innovation and business competitiveness.
For this, we are working on a survey among 4000 students and managers to gauge the views and expectations of young people on work, and at the same time to access the views of enterprises (public and private), and then to analyze both perspectives and needs. The survey will allow our Institute to design and implement an innovative pattern balancing needs of education and employability.
Our benefactors will allow our team to define the scientific questions for the survey, as well as to purchase the platform, to analyze, publish and disseminate the results.
Total Cost: € 35.000 for the realization of one year research activities and publication.
In Italy women’ participation in the labor market is still lower than in main European countries: in fact, seven million women, mainly 30-45 y.o., are outside the labor market due to maternity layoffs, forced to give up work opportunities and professional growth for being mothers.
This scenario suggests that it still necessary disseminating culture of motherhood social value.
“Valore Mamma” wants to offer concrete answers to real needs of many mothers in Lazio Region, spreading a greater awareness about motherhood social value and mothers’ potential and skills, as well as promoting their physical and psychological health.
For this reason, each year “Valore Mamma” organizes an intensive week with conferences and workshops taking place in our Athenaeum as well as across the whole capital. All these activities have free entrance and offer to mothers and general public the opportunities for discovering their own skills, as well as for increasing their formation and networking.
Furthermore, “Valore Mamma” is also an Italian magazine distributed in Lazio Region with scientific and business contributions presented in an accessible and pleasant manner. It aims to raise awareness among women to approach culture as a means to express themselves, spreading a thought to the “feminine.”

Our interdisciplinary group has been working since 2013, deepening reflection about human identity as sexual beings. One of the greatest questions of our time considers the meaning of being man and being a woman. Such question arises in scientific and academic level, but is also strongly felt existentially.
Until now the meaning of identity and of sexual difference has not been deepened enough, since the discourse is still anchored in dualisms: body – soul and nature – culture. It lacks a deeper reflection that takes into account the cultural nature of men and women, where nature and culture can not be separated. Our research group aims to contribute through a deepening of sexual difference and corporeality and our future work is focused on the meaning of mutual intentions of man and woman and on the meaning of motherhood and fatherhood.
Total Cost: € 16.000 for sustaining the annual research and publication costs.
