The Higher Institute for Religious Sciences (HIRS) offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs that provide an education specifically tailored to the understanding of religion’s contribution to society.
In order to prepare professionals who can transform today’s culture and society, the core curriculum covers the essential elements of theology, philosophy and the social sciences.
The institute is especially engaged in the training of religious educators and the on-going formation of religious and consecrated lay women.
The journal Soul and Spirit is intended to be an outlet in which to publish the results of the Institute’s research and teaching. The Institute’s faculty brings together professional scholars from the fields of psychology and theology who are interested in exploring the connections between these fields.
One area of special focus is the respective contributions of psychology and spiritual theology to the formation specific to consecrated life. The journal, which is scheduled to be launched in 2018, will be the ordinary channel for publishing the results of this research.
