Catholic Worldview Fellowship

July 3rd – 30th, 2020

COVID-19 Update:

Out of concern for the safety of our students and staff, the Catholic Worldview Fellowship 2020 has been cancelled.  Next summer’s fellowship dates will be July 2 – 29, 2021.  The application process will open in Fall 2020!

What is the Catholic Worldview Fellowship?

A month-long Summer experience for talented college students who desire to evangelize culture. The Catholic Worldview Fellowship seeks to contemplate reality from the standpoint of Faith. Therefore, the course aims to provide a life changing experience where students see one’s life and future through the lens of the Catholic faith. Fellows will spend three weeks at Schloss Wissen, a picturesque castle in the German Rhineland with origins dating back to the 14th century and one week in Rome, the epicenter of Catholicism.

All these aspects of the Fellowship are harmonized to create a unique, life changing experience of the Catholic Worldview that empowers students to discover and develop their God-given talents. Fellows form a community that is enriched by a diversity of backgrounds and is united through common Christian convictions. Fellows will have opportunities for learning, thinking and contemplation during the month. They will address a variety of issues relating to personal, professional and social life and find creative responses in light of the Catholic Worldview. In so doing, they will form lasting friendships and form a network that will lend support for the future.

The Fellowship is built upon 4 major areas of formation: academic, leadership, cultural and spiritual.

Syllabus

Academic

Students receive six academic credits from the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum. The course elaborates upon and transmits a Catholic Worldview through an interdisciplinary study of culture change. Lectures are given by experts in the fields of history, religion, philosophy, psychology and ethics in order to shed light on the role of a Catholic leader in today’s constantly evolving culture.

Leadership

Fellows also receive personal Leadership Coaching from Firm Foundations Incorporated, a consulting firm in Washington, DC. Through lectures, group discussion and one-on-one sessions, students will identify their talents more clearly and learn how to unleash their leadership potential.

Spiritual

The Fellowship is anchored in Catholic Spirituality. There will be daily prayer, Mass, spiritual formation and personal dialogue provided by priests and/or consecrated women from the Regnum Christi Movement. Thus, the Catholic Worldview includes seeing the world and one’s own life as Christ sees it.

Cultural

Fellows will stay at the prestigious Schloss Wissen and be hosted by the family of Baron Raphael von Loe. The Fellowship seeks to explore the historical roots of Christian culture, provide occasions for fieldwork and organize cultural outings to well-known cultural sights (ex: Aachen, Cologne, Trier, Münster, Xanten, Luxemburg, etc.).
