Identity and Vision

The Joseph Ratzinger – Benedict XVI Chair aims to promote scientific research along with academic educational and outreach activities inspired by the thought of Joseph Ratzinger – Benedict XVI. It promotes and carries out a variety of activities.

Research and in-depth study of the work of Joseph Ratzinger – Benedict XVI, through:

  • organizing study days, conferences, conventions, congresses, symposia, and study groups;
  • publishing scientific studies, particularly in the Studi Ratzingeriani series edited in collaboration with the Cantagalli publishing house;
  • supporting and promoting doctoral research projects at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum focused on the theological thought of Joseph Ratzinger;
  • expanding and enhancing the bibliographic collection on Ratzinger, already housed within the Athenaeum’s “Pius XII” Library;

Academic training and outreach of the thought of Joseph Ratzinger – Benedict XVI, by:

  • offering courses for bachelor’s and licentiate students at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum;
  • providing educational initiatives aimed at professors and students of the Red Internacional de Universidades de Regnum Christi, as well as other interested university settings;

Establishing a network of scholars, aimed at scientific and academic collaboration to achieve the research and educational goals listed above.
