While the conflict in the Holy Land is not yet fully resolved, recent developments inspire hope for a significant and lasting improvement in conditions. Partners such as the Latin Patriarchate have deemed the current conditions safe, and organizations have resumed pilgrimages.
We, at the Sacerdos Institute, are pleased to announce that the Priestly Renewal Program in the Holy Land, scheduled for July 7–26, 2025, will take place as planned. We continue to pray for peace and healing, trusting in God to guide us through these challenging times.

Course Description

The course takes place in Jerusalem at the Pontifical Institute Notre Dame and follows a structured program of guided visits, lectures, spiritual retreats focused on renewing baptismal and priestly promises, daily Eucharistic adoration, ecumenical encounters, and the opportunity to visit the places of Christ’s life.

The goal of the course is to help each priest renew the meaning and purpose of their priesthood by following in the footsteps and mysteries of Our Lord’s life.

Held twice a year, the course lasts three weeks and includes stays in Jerusalem and Galilee, with daily excursions to other significant areas of Christ’s life. Each site is explained with precision and spiritual depth, also providing a historical context of the Holy Land, thanks to the guidance of experienced priests authorized by the Episcopal Commission for Christian Pilgrimages.

Program

The course itinerary covers the main places of Christ’s life:

  • Jerusalem: Temple of Jerusalem, Via Dolorosa, Mount of Olives, Mount Zion
  • Galilee: Nazareth, Cana, Sea of Galilee
  • Judean Desert and Dead Sea
  • Bethlehem and the Franciscan Convent
  • Other significant sites: Emmaus, Caesarea Maritima, Mount Carmel
