November 7: A hyper-realistic meeting with the statue of the Risen Jesus

The famous Peruvian artist Walt Wizard (Walter Huamán) will present his most recent creation on November 7th at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum: a hyperrealistic statue of Jesus, inspired by the scientific studies of the Shroud of Turin and made with medical-grade silicone, the material most similar to human skin.

The work, conceived with anatomical precision and spiritual sensitivity, aims to offer the faithful and the public an experience of direct encounter with the humanity of Christ. Every detail, from the appearance to the skin texture, was created with the intent of conveying the love, sacrifice, and hope that emanate from his figure. Particular care was also taken in creating replicas of the clothing and footwear of Jesus’ time.

The presentation will take place in a space of profound artistic and theological relevance, where the famous Crucifix by Mons. Giulio Ricci and the Man on the Shroud by Master Luigi Mattei are also located. This convergence of works, which for the first time in history represent the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus in a unified manner based on the Shroud of Turin, transforms the event into an extraordinary spiritual and artistic milestone, where faith, science, and art merge for the same purpose: to bring man closer to the mystery of Christ.

“The gift that God gave me I have put at the service of faith,” says Walt Wizard, who considers this creation not only a work of art but a form of contemporary evangelization through realism and emotion.

The project is part of the international initiative “The Body of Christ,” a hyperrealistic and immersive experience that will touch the main cities of the world, with the aim of inspiring, uniting, and renewing faith through art.
