Scientific Committee

A priest of the Legionaries of Christ and an esteemed academic, Professor Koonce plays a leading role in the doctrinal and educational guidance of the institution. Within the Hildebrand Chair, he contributes his vast expertise in the fields of moral theology and Christian anthropology.

• Academic Appointments: Professor at the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum and Academic Vice-Rector of the institution.

• Specialization: Expert in Fundamental Moral Theology, with a particular focus on the themes of conscience, virtues, and the renewal of moral theology in light of the Second Vatican Council.

• Contribution to the Chair: Supervisor of the integration between philosophical reflection and theological wisdom; he ensures that the Chair’s activities are in harmony with the ecclesial mission of the Pontifical Athenaeum, promoting a unified vision of the human person.

• Research Areas: He is actively involved in the dialogue between bioethics, sacramental morality, and the integral formation of future educators.
