Sports and Fraternity: Great Success for the 5th Edition of the Carlo Acutis Tournament
On Sunday, May 10th, the PCIMME football field hosted the fifth edition of the Carlo Acutis Tournament, a well-established sporting event featuring our academic and religious community. Organized by the brothers of the CILC Philosophy department and sponsored by the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, the tournament served as an important occasion to witness the Charity of Christ through sports.
The initiative was created with the aim of fostering sharing and fraternity among different realities of the Universal Church, uniting young people from various backgrounds in the name of sport and Christian values, inspired by the figure of Blessed Carlo Acutis.
The 2026 edition saw 12 teams competing, each consisting of 8 players, in a day dedicated to healthy competition and friendship. Representatives from UER, Mater Ecclesiae, the Institute of the Incarnate Word, the Teresianum, and the Pontifical Mexican College took part in the competition. There was also significant participation from youth from the Guadalupe parish, Francisco de Vitoria students on ERASMUS, young people from the city of Rome, and Legionary brothers from the theology and philosophy communities.
After a series of intense and engaging matches, the victory for this fifth edition went to the team from the Institute of the Incarnate Word, which took home the trophy.
