New book by Prof. P. Sameer Advani, L.C. “Ratzinger on Religious Pluralism”, published by Emmaus Academic and St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology.

The result of five years of research, it examines the value of other religions and religious plurality from a Catholic perspective. Following the thinking of Ratzinger, it argues for a position between the extremes of pluralism and exclusivism, and proposes a model of dual, albeit asymmetrical, fulfilment.

Some of the key questions are attempted to be answered in the book:

1. What can Christian theology claim about the place of other religions in God’s providential plan for humanity?

2. How can theology reconcile the universality of God’s saving plan and the particularity of Christ and the Church?

3. What is the meaning of Christian existence and the mission in a religiously pluralistic world?

P. Sameer expresses gratitude to the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum and the Ratzinger Vatican Foundation for their support of this project.
