When it was initiated in 2004, the course was the first of its kind to propose a formation based on careful scientific and interdisciplinary research for those who practice the ministry of exorcism and deliverance.
Organized by the Sacerdos Institute in cooperation with the Gruppo di Ricerca Socio-religiosa e Informazioni (GRIS, Bologna), the course is held at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome. A wide range of aspects pertaining to the ministry of exorcism and deliverance are studied systematically, including theological, liturgical, canonical, pastoral, spiritual, psychological, psychiatric, neurological, pharmacological, forensic, and legal aspects.
This yearâs edition of the Course on the Ministry of Exorcism and Deliverance coincides with the Jubilee Year. We have decided to conclude the course with a special event: the crossing of the Holy Door and the celebration of the Eucharist at St. Peterâs Basilica, scheduled for Saturday, May 17, at 11:00 a.m.
It will be an opportunity to reflect and pray, and to join with other course participants in a special Jubilee pilgrimage. Participation is optional.
