Formation for the mission: the support of APRA to the Missionary Community of Divine Revelation
I am Sister Maria Rebecca Nazzaro, Superior of the Missionary Community of the Divine Revelation of Rome. Our Community was born in the Diocese of Rome on 11 February 2001, after a long experience of lay consecration.
Since the very first years of its life, the Community has had in the formation courses on Consecrated Life, organized by the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, a valid support on the human, religious and intellectual formation of the first members of the Community. Over the years we have always enjoyed these initiatives with such joy and profit.
Lately our community has been enriched by new members and a formation adapted to the apostolate of the service of catechesis in which the Community is called to work has become necessary for them. Since October 2023 two Juniors and a novice are following with enthusiasm and profit the first year of the course of Religious Sciences.
The Community noted in them a certain firmness and conviction in the approach with the children during the parish catecheses; they acquired mastery of the contents of the philosophy and history of the Church, showing more and more a clear ability to respond to the questions of young people effectively, stimulating them to ask themselves the questions of meaning about their lives.
Our apostolate of Catechesis with Art, consisting in guiding pilgrims in the places of Christian Rome, requires careful preparation from the historical, artistic and theological point of view, because we find ourselves in dialogue with people of other cultures, confessions or simply people who have forgotten the rudiments of the Catholic faith, the sisters support us in this apostolate and, thanks also to what we learned in studies, have really improved in the approach with souls, are able to render with such simplicity the “reason of the hope that is in us”.
On behalf of the whole community, I sincerely thank the benefactors who have enabled us with their generosity to be able to take advantage of the scholarship for our sisters.
