Leslie Chayeb, from Religious Science to the development of personal accompaniment through training in true freedom
My degree in Religious Sciences from the Regina Apostolorum Athenaeum provided me with an organic vision of theology that allowed me, as a consecrated member of Regnum Christi, to develop my vocation and mission.
From 2008 to 2015, I worked as a trainer at Woodlands Academy in Ireland, a boarding school for teenagers where I was able to provide personal and group accompaniment and teach Catholic and liturgical formation. While teaching I realised the need to translate the contents of the faith into the language of today.
From 2015 to 2023, I worked in youth ministry in Mexico City, organising courses, retreats and various evangelisation and prayer experiences where I was able to apply the knowledge my studies gave me. During this time I studied for a Master’s degree in Family Sciences at the John Paul II Pontifical Theological Institute. I realised that thanks to my studies at the university, I had a fairly complete foundation and that the philosophy and theology I had studied allowed me to easily assimilate new content. I was able to collaborate by giving courses in collaboration with the Franciscan University of Steubenville.
Thanks to the organic nature of my studies in Religious Sciences, I realised that the areas I wanted to specialise in were spiritual theology and moral theology. I am currently studying for a degree in Moral Theology at the Pontifical University of Mexico, with the goal of teaching in ecclesiastical and extra-ecclesiastical settings and contributing to the development of personal accompaniment through formation in true freedom. I believe that, faced with the challenges of the world, it is essential that we pastoral workers constantly update ourselves and be able to give convincing answers.
