“The Ongoing Growth” by Ana Maria Ganev

My name is Ana Maria Ganev; I am a PhD student in Bioethics at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum and a research associate at the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and Human Rights.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the scholarship I received during my PhD studies. This support is not only a practical help, but also a sign of confidence in the value of research and academic training.

My time at the Athenaeum has enabled me to acquire fundamental knowledge and tools in the field of bioethics, but above all it has given me the opportunity to engage with scholars and colleagues from different backgrounds and disciplines. This environment of interdisciplinary dialogue has profoundly enriched my education and has also had a significant impact on my professional career.

Coming from a scientific background, choosing a Pontifical Athenaeum was a deeply enriching experience for me, as it helped me to broaden my perspective. Together with my scientific training, I was able to develop a more humanistic, spiritual and existential sensibility, which today profoundly influences the way I conduct research and also my professional approach.

The Athenaeum has taught me to view bioethical issues not only in terms of their technical complexity, but also in terms of their human depth.

I would therefore like to thank the Study Support Programme and all the benefactors whose generosity makes such opportunities possible for students and researchers.

Their contribution not only supports a course of study, but also invests in the development of individuals who, in turn, will be able to contribute to the advancement of research and serve society.
