The far-reaching impact of philanthropy and technology

Amid the ongoing pandemic, at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum we continue safely our activity thanks to the meaningful union of technology and philanthropy, which have always been striving for fostering innovation within our academic community. The Scaramella Faith Foundation, a US-based philanthropy and grantmaking charity, in 2017 has supported the creation of our first Multimedia classroom, project presented in the first edition of Regina Apostolorum’s Wishbook.

At the same time, thanks to the generous help of some benefactors from Asia, we been able to equip 3 more classrooms for professional quality streaming and to offer online distance programs in Shroud Studies and Science and Faith. As well, when the Covid-19 quarantine hit, we were able to quickly adapt, offering our catalog of courses online without interruption for the majority of students in Rome.

The impact of these donations has been far-reaching, enhancing the teaching and learning experience at our Athenaeum and opened the trail for the distance-learning system all our students and professors experience and enjoy. And today, counting on state-of-the-art multimedia classrooms and long-distance programs we can reduce significantly the impact of Covid-19 on our activities of training and academic research.

Our students, professors and staff want to thank all our donors who have been called to support the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in the years and in this extraordinary situation.
