The explanation of the Code of Canon Law is placed within an organic discourse that is able to provide the student with a broad and comprehensive view of the subject matter. The institutional course of canon law takes place in the context of a Faculty of Theology, in which all the teachings must tend to an interdisciplinary synthesis. This entails the need to delineate the theological background of the norm, the connection with other subjects, and strongly emphasize its pastoral dimension, while highlighting the specific status of canon law and its end in the salus animarum. In the second semester, canon law topics corresponding to the second half of the Code of Canon Law are studied: the most Holy Eucharist; the Sacrament of Penance; the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick; Orders; the Temporal Goods of the Church; Sanctions in the Church; Process and Penal Process; International Canon Law.
