Introduction
The course âEschatology: Crossroads of 20th century theologyâ explores the eschatological dimension as a fundamental key to understanding the theology of the last century. Structured in four parts and eight modules, the course offers a progressive pedagogical journey that analyses the evolution of theological thought in this key.
The main objective is to show how eschatology is a meeting point that allows for a systemic vision of theology. The course is structured through: a historical introduction that contextualises 20th century theology; the analysis of the main theological movements of the 20th century; the study of the eschatological turn as a central transformation of theological thought; the study of themes such as the theology of history, hope, politics and liberation in their eschatological aspect.
Aimed at second cycle students, the course promotes a theological dialogue based on selected texts, encouraging critical and profound reflection. Through expository and interactive classes, students will learn to understand eschatology not only as a theoretical component, but as an essential perspective that has shaped and continues to shape Christian theology and life in diverse and changing contexts.
