This statement by the well-known Syriac theologian of the 5th century. D. C., offers us the appropriate perspective to place our investigation. The seminar intends to re-propose the value of Baptism as the foundation of all Christian life; it arises from the mystery of the Redemption and is the entrance vestibule to life in the Spirit and the door that opens access to the other sacraments. According to the methodology of the seminar, after some introductory lessons concerning both the reflection of the Fathers of the Church regarding the symbolism of Baptism and the theological/liturgical composition that explain the value of being a new creature in Christ, the students will choose themes to explore in depth and present in the classroom in order to grasp the experiential dimension of Baptism so that what has been “impressed” by grace can be “expressed” in the ordinariness of time through good deeds.
