The course aims to examine the fundamental concepts of Metaphysics (being-essence, substance, Idea, God, form-matter, act-power, cause-end) on a historical and theoretical level. We will analyze the vision of “being as being” in Greek thought, in Gnosis and in Christian creationism; therefore we will study the vision of the universe in modern science; finally, we will analyze Hegelian theology and the criticism of Schopenhauer and Heidegger
