Bioethics involves an interdisciplinary effort between different fields of knowledge. In this work, philosophy holds a special place, as it helps to understand the possibilities and limits of the empirical sciences and research, especially in medicine (epistemology), the value of the human being (anthropology), and the characteristics of individual and social moral action (general and social ethics). The course aims to present some current issues concerning human actions on life and to demonstrate the importance of philosophy in bioethics.
