“May the Symbol of faith be like a mirror for you. Look at yourself in it to see if you believe everything you say you believe and rejoice every day in your faith” (St. Augustine, Sermones 58, 11-13). This statement by the great Augustine is the background to the proposed course. It intends to retrace the founding contents of the life of the believer. Current experience tells us that the content and meaning of the Christian faith are more than ever shrouded in a nebulous aura of uncertainty with existential and spiritual questions that are not easily and immediately resolved. Intelligent answers to these questions are to be found in the concrete form of the Christian faith which finds its definition in the so-called Apostles’ Creed which will be proposed again taking into account its context and above all its structure. It has always been the treasure of the Church’s faith. The Symbol of faith is therefore the mirror for the life of the believer who is called, in today’s history, to proclaim his Amen as an expression of wisdom received as a gift which becomes an experience and coherence of life.
