The aim is to present the whole doctrine on the sacraments as it flows from the Christology of the third part of the
Summa of Theology, showing the supernatural articulation that culminates in the Eucharist as the crowning of all
mysteries. The essence of the sacraments will be seen from their necessity, grace as an effect of the sacraments,
their character, their causes and the reasons for their number. The sacraments will also be briefly considered,
especially those that St Thomas was able to explain before his death in the Summa of Theology, namely, Baptism,
Confirmation, Eucharist and Confession.
