In the seminar, after a brief historical introduction by the professor, students explore the liturgical theology of Joseph Ratzinger examine the theological foundation proposed by him in volume 11 of the Opera Omnia. It will consider the principal themes of his proposal. Especially the “givenness” of the liturgy, the centrality of the paschal mystery of Christ, the cosmological and temporal dimensions, the ecclesiological and eschatological dimensions, the concept of Logiké latreia, the form of Christian worship and active participation, liturgy symbolism, and sacred space and liturgy and music.
