As stated by
Marta Rodriguez, ISSD Academic and Research Area Coordinator,
"We look with great hope at this third edition of the Joint Diploma, which demonstrates the consolidation of this journey that began four years ago. Together with the partner universities, we wanted to create a laboratory of ideas and concrete experiences that would activate processes for a more synodal Church, where men and women, priests and laity work together to respond to the challenges and questions of our time. Enhancing the specific contribution of women is a condition and a path to do so."
The
Joint Diploma in
Women and the
Church is a shared initiative between the
Institute of
Higher Studies on
Women of the
Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, the
Pontifical Urbaniana University, the
Pontifical Salesian University, the
Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas, the
Pontifical Faculty of Educational Sciences âAuxiliumâ, and the
Claretianum Institute of Theology of Consecrated Life. It also counts with the sponsorship of the
Conference of Rectors of Roman Pontifical Universities and Institutions (CRUIPRO) and the
Academia de Lideres Catolicos.
The Course
explores the specific contribution of
women in the life and
mission of the
Church, in order to activate
processes of
mutual collaboration between
women and
men in ecclesial environments. This
reflection is tied to the question about the
lay faithful, posed especially by the Second Vatican Council and of particular relevance in this synodal journey. Alongside the many examples of
fruitful collaboration between men and women in the life and mission of the Church, there are also
cultural and other
barriers that overshadow their
reciprocity and
effective cooperation.
