Introduction
Neuroscience surprises us more every day with extraordinary discoveries and innovative applications to the health and life of the sick and healthy human being. There are numerous classical ideas and concepts that brain sciences are questioning. The use of modern neuro-technologies allows us to investigate the physiology underlying human cognitive activities, emotions, different behaviors, affectivity, etc. The problem of the interpretation and application of neuro-empirical data has given rise to a new discipline, neuroethics, a real ābridgeā between neuroscience, philosophy and bioethical reflection. Neuroethics is not simply a new field or area of classical bioethics, but it is characterized as a new ground for anthropological, cultural and social reflection. This optional course intends to provide the student with a historical-systematic introduction to this emerging interdisciplinary sector and offers an overview of the nature, status and method of neuroethics.
