The course shares the goals established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), to reach level B1 in an L2 language course. The grammatical reflection will always be based on a reference text, dealing with use of the language in a real situation. The semester will be above all dedicated to bridging any remaining gaps in the skills and competence of the previous level (A2). The grammar syllabus therefore envisages a gradually deepening of the major subject- matters, based on the expectations defined by the Qualifications Framework in the European Higher Education Area (EQF or “Dublin descriptors”). The students will be stimulated from the motivational phase to the phase of metalinguistic reflection, developing and deepening their paralinguistic and extra-linguistic skills associated with aspects of Italian civilisation. The students will be invited to attend the course most suited to their needs, based on the results of an entry-level test.
