The course on Theological Anthropology and Eschatology aims to provide students with an integrated view of Christian anthropology based on Sacred Scripture, tradition, the interventions of the Magisterium, and theological reflection, emphasizing its importance within theological discourse. The content and perspective of the course draw inspiration from a statement in number 282 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church: “The two questions, those of the origin and the end, are inseparable. They are decisive for the meaning and orientation of our lives and actions” (CCC, 282). The course is divided into three parts: 1) CREATION IN GENERAL: a synthetic and systematic study from the sources and theological reflection. 2) THEOLOGICAL ANTHROPOLOGY: a Christian view of humanity in general; Image and likeness of God; corpore et anima unus; man and woman; the original state and original sin. Grace: the supernatural vocation of man and life in Christ. 3) ESCHATOLOGY: context; the mystery of death; intermediate eschatology and purgatory; the parousia; the resurrection of the dead; the last judgment; eternal death and eternal life. The methodology focuses on learning by combining the presentation of topics by the teacher with in-depth theological dialogue with students and engagement with significant sources in the field of theological anthropology and eschatology.
