The seminar aims to analyze the development of the two Mariological perspectives that emerged in the Second Vatican Council and precisely in chapter VIII of Lumen Gentium: the Christological and the ecclesiological dimension. To this end, students will be guided in reading the works of the major Mariologists of the 20th century in order to understand how post-conciliar dogmatic Mariology developed by valuing the Christological or ecclesiological perspective, and, therefore, a knowledge of the person and role of the Virgin Mary in her historical-salvific dynamism, as Mother of God and Mother of the Church.
