The course aims to introduce the study of spiritual theology, a discipline that guides the baptised to the fullness of divine life in the encounter with God the Father, in Christ, in the Holy Spirit. To this end, based on the principles of Revelation, on the main lines of the history of Christian spirituality and on the experience of the Christian life of the saints, it analyses, describes, and summarizes, with a method that is both inductive and deductive, the theological constants that characterise the dynamic process of such transforming spiritual human fullness. The course also provides candidates for the priesthood with the theological-spiritual elements underlying spiritual direction, through specific teaching for their qualified preparation to carry out this ecclesial ministry.
