SOLIDARITY APRA campaign

In preparation for the next Holy Christmas, also this year we are pleased to announce the activities of APRA SOLIDALE .

On the occasion of the 8th World Day of the Poor last 17 November, which had as its theme ā€˜The prayer of the poor rises up to Godā€™ (cf. Sir 21:5), Pope Francis clarified: ā€˜I want Christian communities to commit themselves to creating many moments of encounter and friendship, of solidarity and concrete help. If there are poor people living in our neighbourhood who seek protection and help, let us approach them: it will be a propitious moment to meet the God we seek. According to the teaching of the Scriptures, let us welcome them as privileged guests at our table; they can be teachers who help us to live our faith more consistently. By their trust and willingness to accept help, they show us in a sober, and often joyful way, how decisive it is to live from the essentials and abandon ourselves to the Father’s providenceā€™.

Reflecting on this teaching, the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical Athenaeum is actively committed to extending a friendly hand to those in need.

Through a path of solidarity, we seek to embody in concrete activities the compassion of Christ and to give hope to those most in need, demonstrating that apostolic formation is not just an intellectual act but a concrete service to the human community.

For this reason, from 2 to 14 December, the entire APRA Community is invited to join this solidarity campaign and actively participate in the collection and support initiatives for those in need.

The initiatives planned by the APRA Charity Committee are the following:

Kilo Amico: from 2 to 13 December, let’s collect together food and personal hygiene products to be donated to the Caritas Solidarity Emporium in Trionfale
Christmas Lunch: on Saturday 14 December we welcome many people in need to the Caritas Hostel at Termini Station for a dedicated Christmas lunch, a moment of community and Christian love in which academic authorities, students and APRA employees joyfully embrace the task of serving meals to our guests, thus witnessing the importance of altruism and love for our neighbour.

How to participate?

  • Contribute to the collection of foodstuffs at the entrance to the Athenaeum
  • Make a donation to support our solidarity activities

Don’t wait! Help us bring warmth and hope to those who need it most.

Join in and support APRA SOLIDALE, we are counting on you!
