Introduction

The De Trinitate is one of the major works of Saint Augustine and a text of primary importance in the history of Western theological and philosophical thought. The result of a very long process of reflection, Augustine’s work mainly aims to give an account, as far as possible and always starting from the fact of faith, of the uniqueness and substantial identity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit even in the distinction of people. The seminar will lead students to read the work, understanding its structure and main themes.
