Introduction
The relationship between Christianity is one of the most salient themes in Christian reflection. It suggests a wide range of issues from the comparative history of religions to philosophy and has theological and pastoral consequences. The official doctrine of the Church has moved from rather rigid positions in the evaluation of religions to a more positive view, thanks mainly to the Second Vatican Council, but also thanks to the reflection of theologians of the thickness of H. De Lubac, J. Daniélou and K. Rahner, to mention only the initiators of the two major trends within Catholic theology.
The purpose of this course is to offer the student the knowledge necessary to understand the response of the Magisterium and Catholic theology to the relationship between Christianity and other religions and how other religions stand in relation to salvation. With this knowledge he or she will be able to discern among the various theological proposals and accompany the faithful in understanding the specificity of Christianity and its place in the religious universe.
