Canon Law, as specified in the Apostolic Constitution Sacrae Disciplinae Leges, represents for the faithful a theological deepening of the visible structure of the Church as a reality based on relationships among the faithful, regulated according to justice, in the light of charity, and with the ultimate goal of the salvation of souls. Therefore, it is important for both those who will teach Catholic Religion and the faithful who wish to deepen their knowledge of Religious Sciences to understand, also from a canonical perspective, the structure of the People of God and the legal framework that characterizes the life of the Church.
