Introduction
The course offers an organic view of Christian eschatology, grounded in Sacred Scripture, Tradition, Magisterium and theological reflection, highlighting its centrality in theological discourse. Following the perspective of Spe Salvi, No. 2, it is structured in three parts: 1) Introductory points to eschatology, with a historical background, the nature of eschatology, language and salvation history as the key to interpretation. 2) Individual eschatology, delving into death, particular judgment, intermediate eschatology and purification as maturation (Purgatory). 3) Universal eschatology, devoted to Parousia, new heavens and new earth, resurrection of the flesh, universal judgment, and final destinies: heaven as eternal communion, hell as final separation. The methodology combines theoretical exposition, theological dialogue, and contact with significant sources to foster students’ critical and personal reflection.
