Introduction

The course focuses on the study of human action as oriented towards achieving its own ends, in order to highlight the philosophical foundations from which the difference between good and bad actions arises. It also presents discussions on meta-ethics and some of the main ethical systems developed throughout the history of philosophical thought. Furthermore, it analyzes the relationship between human action and happiness, between conscience and natural law, and how virtues serve to achieve existential goals consistent with human nature.
