Introduction
The course aims to introduce the student to the world of international and public law in its relationship with bioethics. In addition, the course aims to organically illustrate the role of international law norms, its relationship with the national constitution and domestic law. The course offers an in-depth study of the concepts of hard-law and soft-law, the subjects and sources of international law with a special study of the state and international organizations, especially those dealing with human rights issues, in general, and bioethics in particular. Of singular importance is the study of treaty law. In addition, the course develops the basic contents of treaties and international declarations that relate to human rights and bioethics. A knowledge and familiarity of each of the students with the international norms applicable in his or her home country will be required through the student’s personal study.
