Introduction

After a historical and methodological introduction to the discipline, the course aims to present the life, works and thought of those authors who contributed to the development of Christian thought between the 2nd and 3rd centuries. Lectures of a historical-theological nature will be supplemented by the commented reading of selected texts. The topics dealt with – to which one or more lectures will be dedicated – will be distributed according to the following order, which also corresponds to the ‘thesis’ of the final exam of the course.
