This course constitutes the first part of a systematic treatise on metaphysics, to be followed by a second part in the second semester. After the introduction, the first segment will investigate the initial and methodological notions of being, as well as its epistemological status. A second segment will then study substance and act. It will conclude with a comparison between the principles of being and those of the intellect.
