The specific philosophical problem of language is studied in two courses. The first is historical and revolves around two centers: first, the reflections of Plato and Aristotle on language; second, the turn inaugurated by Ferdinand de Saussure in contemporary times and the reactions it provoked. The second course is theoretical and offers a detailed analysis of the linguistic sign from a Thomistic perspective.
