The seminary studies the ascetic mystical Christian itinerary of the spirituality of s. John of the Cross, doctor of the Church, through the analysis of his most complete and mature work: the spiritual Canticle. In particular the following themes will be analysed: symbolic language as a privileged expression to describe this experience; the beginning of the spiritual life; active and passive purifications; the progressive development of prayer; the importance of the virtues, especially the three theologals, humility, patience and obedience; the progression in the spiritual life towards the fullness of the mystical life.
