The general objective of the Faculty of Philosophy is to foster scientific research and the organic study of philosophical disciplines. The first cycle (Bachelor’s Degree) lasts three years, totaling 180 ECTS credits.
To be eligible for admission to the Faculty of Philosophy, students must have completed high school and obtained the necessary diploma for admission to a recognized university.

Target Audience
This program aims at lay and religious individuals seeking a systematic and coherent understanding of reality, a solid mental structure, and a deep love for the truth to engage in dialogue with the people of our time and to carry out theological studies fruitfully.
Objectives
The fundamental objectives are:
- assimilating the laws of thought and the first principles of reality.
- developing a healthy critical sense and adequate ethical discernment; the mastery of a philosophical patrimony of perennial validity
- understanding the most influential currents of contemporary thought in society and the acquisition of scientific research and teaching methods.
Structure
 Three-year course
The three-year course provides the knowledge and practice necessary to meet the objectives required to obtain a first-cycle university degree following the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) criteria. In addition, they are the prerequisite for Ecclesiastical Theological Studies and the Licentiate in Philosophy. The First Cycle lasts three years and comprises 180 ECTS credits.
Two-year course
Following an agreement with the Faculty of Theology, the Faculty of Philosophy offers a two-year course established by the Holy See, which enables access to the Bachelor’s Degree in Theology but does not grant a university degree unless the necessary complementary studies are subsequently completed. The two-year Philosophy course offers a total of 120 ECTS credits.
Admission requirements
To be eligible for admission to the Faculty of Philosophy, students must have completed high school and obtained the necessary diploma for admission to a recognized university. Candidates whose mother tongue is not Italian must have sufficient knowledge of said language to pursue university studies.
