Vast spaces, services and tools for research
The Library makes its services available to all users:
- a reading room with a capacity of 200 seats for reading and study, equipped with electrical (wall) sockets to facilitate the use of personal laptops and connection to the network of the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum and the European University of Rome. From the reading room, there is immediate access to texts on the shelves divided by subject areas on Theology, Philosophy and Bioethics, as well as encyclopaedias, dictionaries, textbooks. Issues of journals published in the last two years are also readily available for consultation; 4 computer workstations to access the electronic catalogue, the internet, databases and electronic periodicals; wifi network; lockers for storing objects.

- On-site consultation of all documentary holdings: The books whose location code begins with the numbers 0, 1 and 2 are available in the reading room and can be taken directly from the shelves. Books and periodicals not in the reading room must be requested from the staff by filling out a form. You can request 10 books per day. Books requested for consultation are collected at the desk. After consultation, they must be returned to the distribution desk.
- Library document loans
- National and international interlibrary loan with the possibility of receiving any publication held by libraries in Italy and other countries at short notice.
- Document Delivery (DD): articles and monograph extracts copied from all libraries worldwide.
- Personalised research assistance, including for dissertations and bibliographic information, on-site and remotely.
The reproduction and document delivery service is offered in compliance with the provisions governing the reproduction of documents (Law of 22 April 1941, no. 633 and subsequent supplements and amendments).
Inter-library loan (ILL) and document delivery (DD)
The Library can make inter-library loans (ILL).
Books are sent to the requesting library for 30 days from the date of dispatch.
The loan is renewable. Books are to be returned by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt.
As a rule, the library operates on a free-of-charge reciprocal basis with the requesting library, otherwise a reimbursement of expenses is requested to be paid by IFLA vouchers or 0.60 euro stamps. The reimbursement ranges between 4 and 8 euros.
The Document Delivery (DD) service operates in compliance with copyright law and sends copies of requested documents by regular mail, fax and e-mail.

The service is suspended during the summer and Christmas periods.
Other Services
Guided tours: guided tours of the library can be organised on request. Training meetings on the electronic catalogue, databases and electronic periodicals, organised at the request of lecturers and user groups.
