Dream, Formation, and Apostolate: A Testimony of Consecrated Life and Multicultural Leadership (by Guadalupe del Toro)

Throughout my life, I’ve recognized that what I live is a received gift meant to be shared. This belief extends to the education I received at Anáhuac University and APRA. Over my 29 years of working with adolescents, I’ve consistently drawn upon the solid foundation provided by my university education. It has become an integral part of who I am, helping me navigate challenges and grow as an individual.

The multicultural environment of Anáhuac and APRA opened my eyes to the world. Thanks to this experience, I’ve been able to travel and work in various countries, including Italy, Ireland, Spain, Colombia, Switzerland, and, of course, my beloved Mexico. This cultural background has allowed me to meet and interact with prominent individuals such as the Irish prime minister, the Mexican ambassador to Dublin, the countess of Morata de Jalón in Madrid, Ana Botella (wife of Aznar), the then-president of Spain, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, as well as famous singers and Cardinal Juan Sandoval of Guadalajara.

My university education also prepared me for significant professional challenges. I’ve held leadership roles such as directing formation at Pinecrest College in Santa Fe, leading the youth section of Regnum Christi in Ireland, and overseeing the territorial direction of ECyD in Colombia and Venezuela. Currently, I lead the pastoral work at Le Châtelard Academy in Switzerland.

In all of this, I recognize the crucial role played by Anáhuac University and APRA in shaping my career and life mission. This education has equipped me with the necessary tools to offer my best self to God, thus contributing to His glory and the expansion of His Kingdom.
