The aim of the course is to reflect, from a theological perspective, on the pastoral action of the parish through a renewed reflection on this ancient and ever-relevant ecclesial institution. Through a historical itinerary, from its foundation to the present day, the course seeks to provide students with a renewed awareness of this fundamental missionary reality of the Church at the service of the “new evangelization,” interpreted in light of today’s “signs of the times.” Conceived as a continuation of ecclesiological understanding, the course will draw on various recent reflections of the Church’s Magisterium, with particular reference to Pope Francis’ Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium. In addition to lectures, students will take part in workshops focused on theological reflection on pastoral action, with special attention given to new forms of catechesis.
