Philosophy is a rational inquiry into being, knowing, and acting. A fundamental part of philosophical reflection is the study of being. What are the first principles, fundamental structures, and ultimate causes of being? The course “Nature and Creature” is a continuation of “Science and Wisdom.” This course seeks to provide students with the metaphysical foundations of philosophical reflection. The course is divided into three parts: 1. Philosophy of the physical world, which studies quantitative entities, space, time, and the notion of becoming. 2. Metaphysics, which focuses on being as being, its internal structures, and the transcendentals. 3. Philosophical theology, as the culmination of metaphysics, studies the ways of knowing God’s existence and His attributes in the light of reason.
