Module Dedicated to Journalists: Information, Covid, War, and Bioethics?

The module aims to address information on specific issues from an ethical and bioethical point of view. The course is organized by the School of Bioethics in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and Human Rights established within the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum (APRA) and the European University in Rome. The idea stems from the need for how often there is a “cognitive gap” in dealing with ethical and bioethical issues in the world of information. Not knowing and not fully understanding certain topics creates cognitive chaos that often leads to incorrect and biased information, fake news, etc. In ethical, neuroethical, and bioethical issues it is necessary to clarify the points properly. The module aims to inform communication professionals about bioethical issues. The sessions will be held by journalists and bioethicists and group work through updates, debates, and comparisons on concrete and current issues.     Notes for participants: The module will be included within the entire update course in Bioethics; an opportunity to learn about and/or explore some aspects of Bioethics in the current context as can be learned from the title “Bioethics, Death, and immortality”. Participants can obtain press accreditation and training hours. Journalists participating in the module and entire summer course can benefit from scholarships and 1ECTS.
