The course shares the goals established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), for levels B1-B2 in an L2 language course. The aim of the course is to acquire and gradually improve the students’ mastery of an adequate lexical repertoire, orthographic and phonetic mastery, sociolinguistic and diaphasic appropriateness and the awareness of diatopic and diastratic variations. Grammatical reflection will always be based on a reference text, dealing with use of the language in a real situation. The second semester will also be dedicated to expanding themes previously introduced, adopting the “spiral learning” method. The grammatical syllabus, based on the expectations expressed in the Qualifications Framework in the European Higher Education Area (EQF or “Dublin descriptors”), aims to extend the linguistic, para-linguistic and extra-linguistics skills of the students.
